Ion Laser Technology wanted a full plastic housing for a medium-run
photonic product used for composite curing and teeth whitening.
The Apollo housing is a four-piece design implemented via Reaction Injection
Molding (RIM). The design functions both stand-alone as well as a base
for an existing UV laser (see small image). The design was implemented
such that transition to standard injection molding or structural-foam
molding could be readily implemented should product demand increase.
